Very intriguing and well written

Ms Blackwood has created a book to keep you intrigued and reading from the beginning to the end.

The story is well developed with enough description to allow you to see the story, but not bog you down. Her description of the mechanical engineering and operations of the different machines are just enough to paint the picture without becoming overly technical. It made me want a mechanical cat like she has claws and all.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery, and a strong heroine. I would love to read many more books by Ms Blackwood.

Laura has done it again. In 'Jewel of Shaylar', she has created a new world of magic and magical creatures. The story is very well done, with well developed characters. Make sure you have plenty of time to read because you will not want to put this book down until the end...and not even then. The only negative thing I could say is I wanted to read the next book in the series now. I will be waiting with baited breath for the next installment of this fascinating story. If you haven't gotten the book yet... what are you waiting for. Buy it and join the adventure.

Laura has done it again. She has taken a time travel romance and given it a twist. I wont tell you what it is, you will have to read it for yourself. Deanna is a strong heroin and Ian is a good match for her. He is strong without being overbearing. The characters will catch you up in their lives and you will find yourself trying to look ahead to see what happens... don't do it. Just enjoy the ride. The settings are well done, from the mountain tops of Colorado to the wilds of Scotland. They are also inhabited with a very interesting and realistic cast of characters. If you enjoy romances and time travel you will love this book. Get a copy today, you wont regret it.

The story takes place in world where the people have been trapped behind the castle walls by the beasts and cursed ones who wait outside the walls. Since the walls have been closed, marriage and children have been forbidden by the elders. In this world we find Arianna and Tardon.
Arianna is trying to do what no woman has done before... become an elite warrior. The warriors are the protectors of the castle and with this job comes special privilege, better living quarters, servants, and better food. Tardon is the most popular of the elite warrior and Arianna's equal on and off the battlefield.
If you need to get up early in the morning... don't read this book. You will not be able to put it down once you start. Ciara has written well developed characters and settings. You get caught up in the story and the twists and turns keep you guessing right to the end.

Kiera's Moon is about a starving artist who's best friend Evelyn kidnaps her and takes her across the universe to find her a man and a life. Kiera finds out herself on a planet were she is the smallest person there, art is considered too lowly a thing for women, and the women are subservient to men.
Kiera is determined to find her way back to earth, to her life of video games and art. After all just got her first commissioned piece and a promise for more. In her hunt for her freedom, she makes a pack with a prisoner to get her to a spaceship.
A'Ran is the ruler of Anshan. His planet has been taken over by another race, his mother and father killed and he and sisters are living as refugees on an unknown moon. His planet and people are dieing, he needs to find his lifemate to help heal and reclaim his planet.
When Kiera and A'Ran meet he recognizes the signs of his lifemate and doesn't hesitate to use her nativity of their ways to make her his. But can he convince the headstrong Kiera to stay, to do that he will need to become much more than a warrior.

Lizzy Ford has a winner with this book. Her character's are well developed and believable. They draw you into their world and take you along for a wild ride. I like the fact that Kiera is a strong character and not a push over, and A'Ran's bewilderment at how to handle a woman like her is very believable. Once I started the book I could not stop thinking about it. I couldn't wait to find out what happens next. Lizzy mixes romance and action well, and the pace of the book keeps guessing and you reading.

Mary Higgins Clark has done it again. I love reading about the feisty Alvirah and her devoted Willy. This book contains 4 short stories staring the adventurous Lottery winners with hearts of Gold. All 4 stories are quick reads as Alvirah and her star-burst mini recorder takes you along on her search for murders, thiefs and kidnappers. When Alvirah sets her steel trap mind to solving a mystery you can count on the criminal being caught and laughter along the way.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes cozy mysteries or just a good fun read.

I read the other reviews and knew I had to read this. Any book vampire or other wise that makes you laugh out loud is a must read.
I noticed I could read it on Goodreads...so I did.
I was laughing and chuckling so much that I wound up having to read the book out loud for an audience. Thank goodness it is a short book. My 80 year old man voice wouldn't have lasted through a long one.

Do yourself a favor and read this. Mike Cooley has a great take on the Twilight series and all those undead who don't know how to properly behave.

I won this book through Goodreads first-reads contest. I couldn't wait to start it. The cover is very well done and peeked my interest immediately.
The story starts out with Kate Waters having a narcoleptic nightmare in which she sees a wreck and hears her sister call out to her.
Kate is use to the nightmares but this is the first time they repeat and feature someone she knows....her sister Jev. As troubling as that is, there is a more pressing problem to handle. Kate is a geologist at the USGS and Mt. Hood is showing all the signs of erupting.
While trying to handle a possible volcanic eruption in the outskirts of Portland Or., Kate finds out Jev has been evolved in a fatal accident. She is left with the key from her visions and the unsettling realization that her sister was a witch in a local coven.
She now needs to find out exactly what happened to her sister, before she is the next in line to have an "accident". But who can she trust, everyone around her seems to be hiding something.
The story catches you up fast. There were a few editorial mistakes in the beginning that sidetracked my attention, but not for long.
This is a fast paced story that keeps you reading to see what happens next. I am very seldom surprised by a mystery anymore. I usually have it figured out before the end. Not so this one. It took me by surprise, but at the same time I could see how the story lead up to that conclusion.

I came across this book at a book sale. Being an avid reader and cook, I couldn't pass it up.
The heroin of the story is Hannah, the owner of The Cookie Jar, a small town bakery. During an elaborate charity event that her bakery is helping cater, Hannah must deal with problems from her two current male friends, as well as pass lover, professor Bradford Ramsey, who wouldn't mind rekindling their old affair. Hannah very much regrets the affair and has no intention of being bullied or blackmailed into another one. She also doesn't like the attention Bradford is paying to her young sister Michelle. When she finds the womanizing professor dead at the talent show with one of her turnovers in his hand, Hannah knows she must find out who did it, before her past secrets become the main course of the town gossip.
The story is well written, though I did have it figured out before half-way through the book. It moved slowly at times but kept you reading. I enjoyed the characters and they way they related to one another.
The book also has recipes inter-spaced with story for the mentioned treats, and I found myself enjoying reading the recipes and looking forward to discovering the next Delicious treat. The recipes alone made the book worth getting, and I will be trying some of them out.

Make sure you have the time to read this. It is one you can't put down.

Gavin MacKenzie is a handsome self-assured Scottish Laird. When he knowingly takes and subsequently dismisses a Fae from his bed, he is asking for trouble. And he gets it in the form of Abbie Kyle a woman from the future, sent by the fae to stop Gavin's upcoming marriage.

Abbie suddenly finds herself in another country and 400 years in the past. To make matters worse she comes face to face with a man, who takes her breath and reason away, even if he isn't her type.

Gavin in turn finds a woman literally at his feet, and in the strangest outfit. The strangely beautiful creature then get in his face and insists that he send her back home to her time in the future.

Laura Eno has once again brought us a story that will keep us turning the pages to the end and wishing for more. Her humor and story telling will keep us coming back again and again.
